  Seven years after their original visit, Old Tom is surprised to once again receive a familiar wax-sealed invitation inviting him, Trench and Debsy back to Castle Mandrake for another weekend of 'food and frivolity'.

  Mandrake has promised that his vendetta against Old Tom is over - so why invite him now? What is curiously different about the invitations? And why is Mandrake seemingly going to so much trouble to recreate the fateful weekend of so long ago?
