SH Solves another Crime

An okay story. SH is well written and even Lastrade comes off better than he's written in the movies. A relaxing way to spend some time while locked away at home because of the virus.

I have read books and listened to a lot of OTR shows based on the books and it is easy to tell The The difference between an imitator and a talented: O’Doyle author. I would say this comes from the latter. A good Sherlock Holmes book is one where you can’t guess the ending and that was this book. So I highly recommend this book to those who love Sherlock Holmes and mysteries where the endings are not predictable. I thought the narrator did a great job. Sherlock Holmes has the best OMG endings and I won’t say this one was one of the greatest, but it is worth a listen that is why I gave it four stars.n.

Watson Received His Reward!

Having listened to Sherlock Holmes and Lestrade, I purchased this story. While Holmes remained true to character,

Watson was an insufferable twit. His snide remarks were a distraction and did not help the story along. The best thing that happened to him was his encounter with the CLOWNS. I think everyone should listen to this story just to learn what they did to Watson. It was perfect!!!

A decided improvement over the first book. While not completely up to the same standard as the original stories it was decently done

Enjoyable

Delightful and the evidence points to Charles as the culprit. Lestrade solved the crime or did he. Sherlock thinks other wise. Good caper for the two of them. Enjoyable as always.

Excellent Finish to the series

Sadly the author doesn't improve with thier portrayal of Doctor Watson. Though the ending of the series otherwise does prvide some satisfactory reward for listening to all four books.

Okay, the previous episode left many questions up in the air, but this episode answers all of them.

I won’t give the plot away, but it is good to know there is something far sinister than a couple of individual deaths playing out.

Yes, for all the tom foolery, this ends in a satisfying conclusion.

I felt like this play was sponsored by the Handsome Cab Co.

Besides the constant mention of the Handsome Cab Company throughout the first part of the production, I enjoyed this Script. It was my favorite of the Script series by Ian Shimwell. It wraps up the whole Script storyline. Throughout the entire series, and in particular this last one the author alludes to various Sherlock adventures, and at the end of this Script Watson and Holmes recount how this adventure was similar to all their other adventures (Rathbone & Bruce).s.

What a flashback to my childhood!

I grew up with a great live for the Sherlock Holmes stories and the great portrayal of Holmes and Watson by basil rathbone and Nigel Bruce. This set of scripts is amazingly true to that style I grew up watching that lead me on To read everything Sherlock Holmes I could get my hands on. The scripts are so well written, narrated and blended with music and sounds that as I listened I could vividly imagine it all in my mind as if it were those same characters of old black and white going through everything I heard. Any fan of Holmes stories will love this! I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the author, narrator or publisher.

Collection of four great Holmes stories

I grew up with a love for the old basil rathbone and Nigel Bruce black and white Holmes movies. These four stories collected here are written and performed in that same spirit. Truly a wonderful addition to any Holmes fans collections. Highly recommended. The narrators deliver that old time movie/radio show feel. Intriguing

I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review. I do love a good Sherlock mystery. Sometimes though I’m afraid to listen to some new ones by different authors because I just I don’t want to be disappointed. This series lived up to every expectation. It was wonderful. It was a little hard to get into in the beginning because it’s read like a play script or movies script. But once you understand that’s how it’s supposed to be you really can’t read this series any other way. Ian does a great job in adding to the original Doyle Sherlock series. I was sure why the stories were kinda short on their own but in the final chapter it becomes clear. All of them are tied together in a way that is both expected and unexpected. I will be listening to this again.

Classic Sherlock Holmes

I really enjoyed both the story and narration of this audio book and look forward to listening to my second book from the same author. The format is of that of a play rather than a story with scenes rather than chapters however, as I'm really missing the theatre through the pandemic, I let my imagination build the visuals from the information in the play. fred jones rated it really liked it

This is an interesting take on the classic detective, part tow of the sequence but can be read as a standalone. The story is good with some inventive ideas, the tarot cards and ravens, some of the characters are a bit of a cliché but I think this was deliberate. The performance is enhanced by the sound effects which make this more of an audio drama. Kevin gives a very good performance with good variation in male voices, the lone female voice is not up to much but still Ok. Overall well worth a listen.

The best of the series

Overall this was by far the best of the series, lots of returing characters to tie up all the loose ends, Excellent storyline, lots of cameos from characters for the classic films as well. I must mention I was a little confused to hear Yellow submarine being sung in the background in the pub scene. A good one.
